What would the world be like without the expresso machine? I personally wouldn’t mind finding out but that is another story. Many people simply love the espresso coffee. It is usually a foamy and quite full flavored, in fact many actually call it very strong coffee.

An expresso machine is an expensive little unit that allows you to make this rather uppity drink in the quiet comfort of your own kitchen and enjoy it whenever you have the urge to indulge your innermost needs to pamper your taste buds. Ok, that sounds a bit much even to me as a writer. Honestly though, I have had some flavors of espresso that I actually like and I have had others that I absolutely hate. The secret to getting the good cup, I am told has a lot to do with the actual expresso machine with which you make the cup of espresso.

The first thing about an expresso machine is that you need to make sure that you have a super grinder. That is because the actual process of making and espresso puts the coffee bean remnants in 135 pounds of pressure with steam for up to 20 seconds and the actual grind quality can and will affect the final taste of your espresso, so start here with the best grinder you can afford.

Next on your thoughts towards buying an expresso machine is that you need to remember that a decent one can cost you nearly as much or more than a decent refrigerator. But the unit if taken care of will last a long time and considering the pressure that it undergoes, the extra price for a decent one is worth the money.

Then you need to decide whether you are after a manual, automatic or semiautomatic model. Remember we are talking expresso machine here and not a weapon, although you might feel like buying one before you make the final decision as it can be problematic to find just the right one at the right price for your lifestyle and financial situation.

Then you have to consider the accessories. These are not technically a part of the expresso machine purchase but you are going to need them if you are going to enjoy it fully, so go ahead and factor it in. Things like the tamper for patting it out and the special cups that you use to enjoy your espresso need to be considered. Then there are knock boxes and steaming pitchers and you will need some special cleaning supplies to make sure that the investment can be kept clean so it will always perform worry free and give you a longer lifetime of usage and for the price you are paying, you want as much life out of it as you can get.
